Got Milk....Make that Almond Milk....

Got Milk??...Ummmm...Make That Almond Milk.

The new healthy alternative to cow's milk is Almond Milk. So what's the big deal anyway?
Almond Milk has all the benefits of cow's milk but with more nutritional advantages and purity, less cholesterol, no saturated fat, no animal products or by products and no hormones.
Almond Milk is the choice of cardiac patients because it has been shown to decrease heart disease and lower cholesterol. With no saturated fat and only 70 calories compared to the 122 calories in 2% Cow's milk, it's a no brainer.
In patients seeking to lose weight, the 70 calories and no saturated fat are also a selling point.
In teenagers with acne issues, the total lack of hormones is definitely an advantage over cow's milk.
The protein in the almonds is different than the protein in cow's milk so it actually has a very long shelf life (no after work mad dashes to the store for that gallon of milk because you have long term storage options with almond milk).
Almond Milk contains potassium; whereas cow'smilk does not.
REMEMBER; ALMOND MILK IS DERIVED FROM NUTS, ALMONDS, SO DO NOT USE WITH INFANTS OR PEOPLE WITH NUT ALLERGIES!!!
Coming from a gal raised in the Dairy State, the use of almond milk took some adjusting. I have to say, I am now 'nutty' about it!
