The old belief that coffee stunts your growth and increases the risk of heart disease and cancer has been challenged. Recent studies have found there are many advantages to that steamy hot cup of brew. Coffee has been shown to protect against Parkinson's, Type 2 Diabetes, Liver Cancer, Alzheimer's, Endometrial Cancer, and some Oral Cancers. In men who drank greater than 6 cups of coffee a day, Prostate Cancer was reduced by 20%. In women who drank greater than 4 cups a day, Endometrial Cancer was reduced by 25%. There was a 50% less risk of death from oral cancers in people that drank greater than 4 cups of coffee daily in a 25 year time range.

The importance of adequate hydration with water, nutritional needs from juices and calcium intake from milk should not be negated in lieu of the new found benefits of coffee.
